How to Add a Retweet Button to the Twitter Web Interface
‘Retweeting’ is the process of sharing a tweet that you like with your Twitter followers. Basically this involves copying and pasting the whole tweet in your tweet box and adding a ‘RT’ in front of the tweet or a ‘via’ at the back of the tweet.
Most Twitter clients have the retweet function built in but if you’re using the web interface, you can also include a retweet button using a greasemonkey script called Retweet This. You’ll need to use a browser like Firefox or Flock though.
Here’s a screenshot of my web interface with the retweet button added:

I don’t know how to add the retweet button script to Twitter. I found the greasemonkey script at http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/26500.user.js but don’t know where to add it to my twitter page. I’ll keep looking but if there are step-by-step instructions, please let me know. Thank you. – Raphaella
Raphaella,
There are three steps to setting it up:
First you need to have the right web browser.
1. Download Firefox at this link.
2. Install the greasemonkey addon
3. Go back to the link I’ve posted in the post and click the ‘install’ button. There should be a pop-up box telling you to approve it.
Approve it and you’re done! That’s all you need to do. Let me know if you still have any problems..
Thank you very much! This is the ONLY Greasemonkey script that works very well. Copies the entire message along with the proper RT format for twitter. Excellent recommendation!
Ya know what I noticed:
When I hit RT its just giving the @ sign and not putting the username in there (which is kinda the point) … strange
my retweet button isnt there anymore
at first it was there and todaay it was awaay
